I recommend this book to anyone who suspects they could use to take a step back and look at their yoga practice with new eyes.

Whether you are a yogini or not (I am not) this is a beautifully written, very inspiring book. It is full of life lessons that resonate with you long after you have finished reading. The book might make you consider trying or going back to yoga. You do not need any yoga background or even any desire to do yoga to get a lot out of the book.
I loved this book. It is such an easy read, well written with heartfelt personal introspect and inspiration. It inspired me to think more about my daily yoga and meditation practice and incorporate it throughout my day. As the title suggests, it is truly a modern way to look at an old practice that can have great impact on our lives if we use it.
Loved this book for its humor and beautiful message of positivity and self-acceptance. It encouraged me to continue on my journey of learning yoga (only been doing it for a few weeks now).

I took up yoga late in life, and am challenged by the reality of an aging body. As I practiced, I found that much of what I learned on the mat had relevance to my every day experiences. I was curious what others thought about linking yoga, and their lives away from the class room. This is a quick and enjoyable read, with many memorable quotes. Everyday, I am a different person, with new challenges and opportunities. Kris understands this, and weaves this into stories from her own life and how yoga made a difference in her journey.
I loved reading After Namaste...it contained so many valuable life lessons, whether you practise yoga regularly, or not (or like me...occasionally), all delivered in the warm, down-to-earth voice of author Kris Loomis. She's the friend that you need, telling you that there's always another chance, relax and enjoy your life, nobody's perfect, it's the little things, and all of that sage thinking that we should have mastered by now, but seem to forget in the blur of our busy lives. Somehow, Loomis manages to communicate these ideas in new and fresh ways -- these are, after all, the lessons of yoga, yet how many of us get to the point where we are doing more than worrying about keeping up with the next person. Reading this book made me realize that like life, yoga is not a race, or a test. I would recommend this book to anyone, whether into yoga or not...although, if you aren't already practising, you will probably want to, after reading this book!
This book clearly demonstrates how the benefits of practicing yoga go far beyond the physical. I found the stories shared to be truly inspirational. There are many great life lessons sprinkled throughout. You definitely don't have to be actively practicing yoga (or know anything about it for that matter) to enjoy this book but I think you may want to incorporate more yoga into your life after reading it! Kris has a wonderful writing style and great sense of humor that makes you feel like you're chatting with a good friend. I think this book would appeal to a wide variety of people but especially anyone looking for a little pick-me-up.
