The book picks up a little bit after book one ended with Jett frantically trying to find Brooke, and Brook and Sylvie on their way to Italy to meet Alessandro Lucazzone. Brooke is nursing her broken heart while at the same time checking the vast property she is about to inherit and what this all means for her life. At the end of the first book my heart just broke for Brooke so much and I just wanted her to and Jett to be happy together. Once they finally lay eyes on each other the sexual tension between them was so thick I couldn’t put this book down. I couldn’t wait for them to just start tearing each other’s clothes off and go at it all night long. Jett once again is as amazing as ever, and although there is still a ton of mystery when it comes to Jett Mayfield, you do get to learn some new things about him which I really like.
This book wasn’t without tons of action and I’m not just talking about sex. The mystery of estate that Brooke is about inherit is still going strong and by the end of this installment you probably have more questions than answers. I love the mysterious part the most I think because there is just so much to find out and learn still and it has kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading. Of course there are some big bombshells not just when it comes to the estate but other aspects of Brooke’s life as well. I love that this story ended on more of a high note, no cliffhangers in site (for now at least).
Not So Much
This was a really great story but I did feel like at times the plot was a little thin with very slow movement towards an outcome. There was a lot of drama and some action, but I guess I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, for something completely horrible to happen and it just never did. There was progression with Jett and Brooke’s relationship but other story lines just didn’t move along as much.
Once again I just don’t like the character of Sylvie at all, she just seems so selfish and self-centered. To me she is more concerned with having a good time and getting completely plastered every single night then actually being there for her friend, who invited her to go to Italy with her and stay on a beautiful estate. At one point she kind of left Brooke at a club, and I’m just thinking they’re in the middle of a foreign country and this girl just left her friend in a night club with strangers all around her. She just doesn’t seem to have a huge purpose for me, and takes away from me enjoying the book.

Conquer Your Love JC Reed 9781490332741 Books Reviews
This is the second book in the series which I finished last night so today I am starting book 3 (Treasure Your Love). This story does not have the cliffhanger ending that the first book did, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions so I am looking forward to reading the 3rd book in the series. The reason I gave this book 5 stars is because I found the characters multidimensional and believable and the story line kept my attention.
The first chapter is written from Jett’s point of view (POV), and then the rest of the book is told from Brooke’s point of view, and while I am not a big fan of the first person point of view (POV), the author did a great job of not making Brooke the perfect person (gorgeous, long flowing hair, perfect figure, etc.) that I find often happens when written from the 1st person POV.
In this book we learn more about Jett and Brooks best friend Sylvie. After Brooke learns she has inherited an estate from an unknown long-lost great-uncle, her and Sylvie fly off to meet the uncle who is very old and dying. The majority of the book takes place in Bellagio, Italy and the author does an excellent job describing what a beautiful part of the world this is. I suspect she has spent some time in this part of Italy.
Brooke and Jett are well written characters; they are smart, independent, and will to open up and be honest with each other. I was a little upset with Brooke in the beginning because she didn’t give Jett the opportunity to explain why he did what he did. But once she calmed down a little I was glad she gave him the opportunity to explain himself and then forgive him. When people make mistakes you can choose to forgive and move forward or you can choose to hang on to the anger and let it consume you. I am glad Brooke chose to forgive and allowed Jett back into her life.
I wasn't crazy about the first book, but this one was frustrating to get through. Brooke blushes over everything no matter how many times her and Jett had sex previously. Just the thought of having sex with him the prior time had her blushing. There is wayyyyyyyy too much content describing how beautiful Jett is and she constantly is driven speechless at the sight of him, again no matter that she's seen him naked and done things that make her blush red. There are annoying discrepancies such as when he tells her to keep her cell phone off so she can't be tracked while she is in danger, but the next day he leaves her alone and it's suddenly insisted that she keep her cell phone on constantly even though the threat still exists. I would have stopped reading b/c I was sick of reading the same crap over and over again as described above, but I had already bought the final in the trilogy and feel like I have to finish the second to give the third a chance. And with that, a lot of skimming and skipping over content ensued including sex scenes, Brooke blushing, Jett's uber hotness....I finally finished with a thought of "thank goodness."
